Cyhoeddi fersiwn Cymraeg o’r Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Da

Mae Cyngor Addysg Graddedigion y DU a’r Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol yn falch o gyhoeddi fersiwn Cymraeg o’r Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Da.

Mae’r Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Da yn cydnabod, ar lefel genedlaethol, y set eang, cymhleth a heriol o swyddogaethau sy’n gysylltiedig â goruchwyliaeth ymchwil fodern.

Mae’r fframwaith wedi’i gynllunio i bennu disgwyliadau ar gyfer pob goruchwyliwr ac i gefnogi rhaglenni datblygu goruchwylwyr.  Mae’r fframwaith wedi’i ysgrifennu gan yr Athro Stan Taylor o Brifysgol Durham, ac mae’n seiliedig ar ystod eang o ymchwil academaidd i oruchwyliaeth.

Yn dilyn y cyhoeddiad, dywedodd Dr Owen Gower, Cyfarwyddwr Cyngor Addysg Graddedigion y DU:

“Rwy’n falch iawn o gyhoeddi fersiwn Cymraeg o’r Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Damewn partneriaeth â’r Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.  Mae’n hanfodol ein bod ni, fel Cyngor Addysg Graddedigion y DU, yn cefnogi cymuned ôl-raddedig gyfan y DU mor effeithiol ag y gallwn. Dyma gyhoeddiad pwysig arall wrth i ni barhau i helpu goruchwylwyr i lywio cymhlethdodau goruchwyliaeth ymchwil fodern.”

Dywedodd Dr Dylan Phillips, Uwch Reolwr Academaidd, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol:

“Mae’r Coleg yn gwerthfawrogi’r cyfle arbennig hwn i gydweithio â UKCGE i ddatblygu llwybr cyfrwng Cymraeg ochr yn ochr â’r ddarpariaeth cyfrwng Saesneg ar gyfer cefnogi goruchwylwyr ymchwil ar ddau lefel: i gynnig arweiniad a hyfforddiant iddynt ar yr ystod o sgiliau sy’n angenrheidiol ar gyfer cefnogi’r to nesaf o academyddion; a’r gydnabyddiaeth llawn haeddiannol y gallasant weithio tuag ato trwy’r ‘Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Da’.”

Y Tîm Datblygu Staff Academaidd ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth yw’r cyntaf i ddefnyddio fersiwn Gymraeg o’r Fframwaith Ymarfer Goruchwyliol Da. Wrth siarad am eu defnydd o’r fframwaith i wella cynnig y brifysgol o safbwynt datblygiad proffesiynol staff, dywedodd yr Athro Colin McInnes, Dirprwy Is-Ganghellor (Ymchwil, Cyfnewid Gwybodaeth ac Arloesi), Prifysgol Aberystwyth:

“Gall goruchwylio myfyrwyr ymchwil fod yn un o’r pethau mwyaf boddhaus a wnawn fel cymuned academaidd, ond yn un o’r pethau anoddaf hefyd. Mae’r heriau hyn yn effeithio ar bawb ohonom ni o bryd i’w gilydd, ac yn dal i ymffurfio wrth i ymarfer, dulliau a gwybodeg ymchwil ddatblygu. Bydd y Fframwaith hwn yn rhoi’r adnoddau a’r hyder i’n cymuned ymchwil ni yn Aberystwyth gael parhau gyda’n harferion goruchwylio ardderchog a chefnogi ein Myfyrwyr ymchwil.”

Welsh language version of the Good Supervisory Practice Framework published

The UK Council for Graduate Education and the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol are delighted to publish the Welsh language version of the Good Supervisory Practice Framework.

The Good Supervisory Practice Framework acknowledges, at a national level, the wide-ranging, highly complex and demanding set of roles involved in modern research supervision.

Designed to set expectations for all supervisors and to support supervisor development programmes, the framework is authored by Professor Stan Taylor of Durham University, and is based upon the extensive body of academic research into supervision.

Following the publication Dr Owen Gower, Director of the UK Council for Graduate Education said:

“I’m thoroughly delighted to publish the Welsh language Good Supervisor Practice Framework in partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. As the UK Council for Graduate Education it is vital that we support the whole of the UK postgraduate community as effectively as we can. This is another important publication as we continue to help supervisors navigate the complexities of modern research supervision.”

Dr Dylan Phillips, Senior Academic Manager at the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol said:

“The Coleg welcomes this opportunity to work with UKCGE to develop a Welsh-medium pathway alongside the English-medium provision for supporting research supervisors at two levels: to offer guidance and training on the range of skills necessary to support the next generation of academics; and the well-deserved recognition that they could work towards through the ‘Good Supervisory Practice Framework’.”

The Academic Staff Development Team at Aberystwyth University are the first to use the Welsh language version of the GSPF. Speaking about their use of the framework to enhance their professional development offering, Professor Colin McInnes, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation), of Aberystwyth University said:

“Supervising research students can be amongst the most rewarding things we do as an academic community, but also amongst the most challenging. These challenges affect all of us from time to time, and continue to evolve as research practice, methods and epistemologies develop. This Framework will provide us as a research community at Aberystwyth with the tools and confidence to continue our excellent supervisory practices and support our research students.”

The Welsh language version of the Good Supervisory Practice Framework can be downloaded for free from the UKCGE’s Research Supervision Recognition Programme website: https://supervision.ukcge.ac.uk/downloads/lawrlwythor-fframwaith-ymarfer-goruchwylio-da/
