UK Research Supervision Survey 2021 Report
In this report, Dr Senthila Quirke and Dr Alex Standen present the findings of a survey regarding the support and development available to doctoral researchers who become Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) in UK universities, and offer recommendations to improve their experiences.
We are extremely grateful to Dr Quirke and Dr Standen for compiling this report. Their passion for supporting Graduate Teaching Assistants has been evident throughout this project, and it was their enthusiasm and expertise which enabled us to address this aspect of doctoral training. We hope that this report helps the postgraduate sector to be more systematic in its support for GTAs, and that it provides new ideas and insights into how GTAs can maximise the support they are given.
